Welcome to LC Yoga

Maybe you’ve been thinking of trying yoga, but you’ve hesitated because you’ve never done it before. No need to be shy if you’re new, we were once too and we’re here to help. We suggest you get acquainted with our studio by taking our Yoga Basics class.

New Student tips:

  • Arrive 15 minutes before the start of class.

  • Bring a yoga mat (or borrow one for free) and a water bottle.

  • Bring a towel for heated classes (or borrow one for free)

  • Wear comfortable workout clothing.

  • You do not need to be flexible! This is something that will come with time and practice.

  • Be gentle with yourself. If your unsure of what to do, feel free to hang back and observe or ask for guidance.

Studio Etiquette

  • Arrive Early: Getting to class about 10 minutes early can help you settle in and align your attitude with the purpose of the class. While you’re waiting you can practice a pose, do a few stretches, or just sit or lie quietly, breathe and get centered.

  • Injuries: Let your teacher know about injuries or conditions that might affect your practice. Listen to your body and honor your present energy level, ability and limitations by choosing a modification or a restorative pose.

  • Phones: Please do not bring cell phones or other sound making devices into class, so the peace of the practice is not disturbed. If you are caregiver and your phone is of vital importance, please make sure it is on silent.

  • Voice: Please respect the class environment by lowering your voice before and after class.

  • Self-Care: Do not over exert yourself. Do what you can without straining or injuring yourself. You will advance faster if you have a loving attitude toward yourself and work from where you are, not from where you think you should be. Rest when needed.

  • Heated Classes: Heated yoga can be intense. Feel free to sit, lie down or step outside if necessary. Bring or rent a towel as sweat can cause you to slip on your mat. Let your instructor know if you are feeling light headed or dizzy.

  • Cleanup: Be mindful and put away any props you use. If you borrow one of our mats, we ask that you wipe it down with the cleaner provided in each classroom.

  • Showers: Shower space is limited. Please be considerate of other people and limit your showers to 5 minutes or less.

  • Punctuality: Please do not enter class late or leave early whenever possible, as it can be disruptive to the experience of others.
